First Impressions Mean Everything
You never get a second chance to make a first impressions. No matter how good the interior of your home looks, buyers have already judged your home before they walk through the door. Spruce up your home’s exterior with inexpensive shrubs and brightly colored flowers. It’s important to make people feel warm, welcome and safe as they approach the house.
Channel Your Inner Neat Freak
Paint the interior/exterior a light grey (lighter colors are working right now!!) you always knew your tidying tendencies would come in handy one day. Now it’s time to clutter-bust your way to buyers’ hearts! Decluttering isn’t rocket science—but it is the key to creating a pleasing environment. Pay particular attention to common junk magnets like: - Kitchen and bathroom counters - Fireplace mantels - Laundry room shelves - Tabletops - Magazine racks
Make Sure Your Home is Always “Show-Ready”
You never know when your buyer is going to walk through the door. You must be available whenever they want to come see the place and it has to be in tip-top shape. Don’t leave dishes in the sink, keep the dishwasher cleaned out, the bathrooms sparkling and make sure there are no dust bunnies in the corners. It’s a little inconvenient, but it will get your house sold. And although it may be a little inconvenient, buyers need to be able to picture themselves and their things in a room. And to bounce off of the picture idea—impactful, clean, and sharp photography is vital for your home’s chances to sell sooner and sell higher.
